On paper, I am Rachel La Touche, BAH, MA, Ph.D. I have over fifteen years’ leadership and applied expertise in evidence-based equity interventions, anti-oppression programming, and professional coaching and development. I am an award-winning, interdisciplinary, and internationally trained scholar who specializes in:
I received my BAH from Queen’s University in Sociology, Graduate Certificate in Canadian Studies and MA in Sociology from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and a Ph.D. in Sociology from Indiana University.
In practice, I love to create – meals, gardens, travel plans, playlists, and as it turns out, careers. And no dream or idea is too distant to entertain – build a garden from grocery store produce? Sure! Salvage and refurbish discarded furniture? Absolutely! Career pivot just before a promotion? Why not? I did it! As I’m often reminded, creating your own path is not only your prerogative, it’s also rewarding! It doesn’t need to be linear or conventional. Make it authentic to you. Like my Tolkien tattoo says, “Not all those who wander are lost.”
This work calls to my inner child – curious, engineering, and focused. I’m not afraid to jump in feet first, as long as I have a plan. And seeing dreams come to life, including my own, has been one of the great joys of my journey. I’d be delighted to share that with you.
